This week's WOW word on Feather & Foundation is Reunion. Reunions- whether it be with family, friends or classmates allows a space to connect with someone that some time has passed to catch up on the life's time gap. The value of friendship is mental health, wellness, and longevity. If a stable/healthy reunion- the conversation flows and the laughter and heart typically over-flow. You'll hear about the who are the people that should be in your tribe. Life travels at the speed of light- take time to create some opportunities for reunions in your life.
While our WOW words are typically character traits, or qualities- this week we deviate on our WOW word - Reunions. After having two difference reunions (girl's trip & class reunion) in a week, I couldn't resist chatting about reunions. Spending time with people who have shared part of your life story is good for your wellbeing, mental health and longevity. Of course, these are people who bring value to your life- not stress your nervous system. The laughter, the fun, the joy- so many endorphins are engaged when we spend time with people who bring light to our souls. I find it fascinating at class reunions on the dichotomy- you have a person who you shared a very pivotal time or season in your life that draws you together in memories and stories, and you also have a person before you that there is a gap of time, and who they have become in those years- that you don't really know. Crazy, right?
We'll cover who you should include in your tribe or friendship zone (and who to avoid- run, Forest run!) We'll tackle if reunions are so good for our wellbeing, what are the triggers that may make us avoid them?
