This week on Feather & Foundation we have a special guest, Austin Campbell- founder of Lane Switch Consulting (and my son) as we talk about courage. What does it look like? How can we embrace it, even in our fears and uncertainty? Hear tips to build your courage, so you can live your life courageously.
Our WOW word this week is courage. We are joined by Austin Campbell, founder of Lane Switch Consulting. I wanted Austin to share about courage in watching him live it out in deciding to leave a secure job as a teacher (and coach) to start a new beginning, new career and new place. It takes courage to reset and change. You'll hear about overcoming obstacles and even in the unsureness of live- courage shows up in the daily, sometimes smallest places. Sometimes we just need 7 seconds of courage to make the decision, take the steps, change something, do something different, speak up or choose. Despite a rough start to a new decision (bank account fraud, a day move that ended up taking 9 days, working a new job that required 100 phone calls a day and exceeding that goal, only to be let go 2 months later because of over hiring in the company, to finding a new job and starting a new business.) Wow lots of courage required. Austin will give you some tips on how to live courageously. Our best self and life is often on the other side of fear.
About Lane Switch Consulting: Austin being a former teacher saw the challenges of taking those skills and transferring them to corporate industry. How does lesson plans translate to the business world? After navigating the process and helping others, Austin realized the need for support of educators to know how to figure out what's next? What am I good at? What are my skill sets? He has created several options to support that transition from career mapping, defining skills, to resume writing, social media presence, job interview prep, to having a coach walk through the process.
